Welcome & Schedule

Kia ora koutou! The NZ Hydrological Society welcomes you to their annual technical workshop to be held in sunny Ahuriri/ Napier and online from 29 March to 1 April 2022. This year’s technical workshop theme is ‘Monitoring challenges and innovation during a global pandemic’.  This theme captures the trials and tribulations many of us have faced over the past 2 years trying to navigate and respond to new ways of working driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage presenters to explore the challenges they have faced and showcase the Kiwi number 8 wire ingenuity that has helped our profession adapt and continue delivering throughout such a turbulent time.

Contributing to this uncertainty and turbulence is the significant crossroads we currently find ourselves in with regards to the government’s Essential Freshwater reforms and how these will impact freshwater monitoring scientists. To delve into this further, we have lined up a great keynote speaker to discuss these regulatory changes and how these changes will impact on field practitioners.
